Terms of Reference 


GREEN TASK FORCE TERMS OF REFERENCE Effective January 11, 2010

Approved by City Council (originally approved May 14, 2007, amended September 22, 2008) Mandate:

The mandate of the Green Task Force is to:

• review City operations with a view to identifying options and related costs respecting elements of service delivery that are more environmentally sensitive

• provide recommendations on such matters to City Council

Take a leadership role in educating the community while introducing green initiatives and conservation programs

Committee Structure:

Five (5) voting members consisting of:

• 3 Councillors

• 2 citizen appointees

The Committee may invite other citizens and volunteers to assist from time to time as non-voting members.

Staff Support:

Administrative support will be provided principally through the Corporate Services Department

• Staff support will be provided principally through the Public Works Superintendent and the Manager of Property, with other staff to assist as required for specific investigations

Meeting Schedule:

At the call of the Chair

Other:

Directors and Managers from all City Departments could be requested by the Committee at any time to attend meetings or undertake investigations with regard to matters identified by the Committee.

The Committee has no independent authority and is responsible for providing recommendations to Council for approval
