The City of Belleville’s Economic & Strategic Initiatives goal is to promote and market the City of Belleville as a desirable location for investment, business, tourism and living.

Specific Objectives Pertaining to Economic and Strategic Initiatives
- market the City affectively to all potential investors;
- seek out and aggressively pursue all appropriate development and investment opportunities for the
City
- prepare and maintain, as resources permit, a variety of documents and publications which describe development opportunities, provide current information about the community, and assist developers with approval procedures
- liaise with local business owners and industries with regard to matters by which the City may be able to provide assistance
- participate with other levels of government and surrounding municipalities in achieving economic development objectives and
- advocate to City Council on behalf of local business in matters affecting the interests of business
assist local businesses with labour needs by collecting resumes for a database, maintained by the department staff - the resume database contains over 1500 resumes ranging from unskilled labour to highly skilled individuals.
- host Job Fairs for local businesses to assist with labour needs.
